Some dance shoes cross happily between Ballroom and Latin. ICS RT SS knows exactly what it wants to be. The closed rounded toe, warm Flesh Satin and sweeping asymmetric strap create a beautifully traditional Standard Ballroom line - understated, polished and designed to disappear elegantly into the overall silhouette rather than compete with it.

The closed round-toe court construction immediately separates ICS RT SS from the open Latin sandals we've been looking at. It encloses and supports the forefoot, creating the smooth uninterrupted line traditionally associated with Standard Ballroom while giving the toes more protection and containment.

Our version sits on a 2.5" Ballroom heel. That's a meaningful heel height: elegant enough to create a developed competitive Ballroom position, but without pushing into the more demanding territory of a very high or ultra-slim heel. For dancers already comfortable in Ballroom heels, it offers a particularly useful balance between line and control.

The asymmetric strap sweeps diagonally across the instep rather than simply sitting horizontally across the foot. Once adjusted correctly, it helps draw the shoe securely onto the foot and reduces unwanted movement between foot and shoe during travelling steps, turns and changes of direction.

Comfort is one of the strongest parts of the ICS RT SS story. Gel cushioning and a soft internal lining create a noticeably more forgiving environment underfoot, making this a strong option for dancers spending extended periods in their Ballroom shoes through lessons, rehearsals and competition days.

Underneath, the suede dance sole provides the controlled glide and floor connection required for Standard Ballroom. It allows the shoe to travel smoothly across an appropriate indoor dance floor while still giving the dancer enough feedback for controlled movement.

The Flesh Satin finish completes the traditional competition aesthetic. Its warm neutral tone is designed to blend elegantly with the leg and tights, helping extend the visual line rather than interrupting it.

This is one of the narrower-fitting shoes in our collection. That's excellent for a slimmer foot that disappears inside broader Ballroom styles, but fuller feet should pay particular attention to sizing.

If you want the more pronounced Ballroom pitch and longer leg line, we'd look at our 2.5" ICS RT SS. If stability, comfort and feeling closer to the floor matter more, this is the one we'd try first.
