BL178 Satin Ballroom & Latin Dance Shoes • Multi-strap Design
Some social dance shoes simply have that classic Ballroom prettiness, and the So Danca BL178 Satin Ballroom & Latin Dance Shoes are a lovely example. Delicate, feminine and beautifully proportioned, BL178 brings a more refined look to classes and evenings on the dance floor without becoming overly formal.
So Danca BL178 Personality
Romantic • Feminine • Classic • Polished
Champagne is the softest and most traditional option, with a delicate satin finish that blends beautifully against the foot and works particularly well with lighter dresses and classic Ballroom styling.
Burgundy gives BL178 much more personality. Rich and romantic, it brings a slightly vintage Ballroom mood to the delicate strapping and is easily the colour for dancers who want their shoes to become part of the outfit.
Black makes the same feminine construction feel more understated and versatile. It is the easiest option for regular classes, social evenings and dancers who prefer their footwear to quietly complement rather than lead the look.
So Danca BL178 Ballroom & Latin Shoes – Design & Performance
BL178 is built around a beautifully arranged multi-strap open-toe vamp. The slender satin straps cross and weave across the forefoot, creating the shoe's distinctive plaited appearance while distributing the hold across several points rather than relying on one broad front band.
A particularly clever detail is the adjustable wrap strap. The main strap passes beneath the arch of the shoe, allowing its position to be adapted around the foot before fastening at the ankle. This gives dancers more freedom to find a secure configuration and complements the open, delicate appearance of the upper.
Underfoot, a 2.5" flared heel provides a traditional social Ballroom height with a broader base than a slim Latin heel. The angled shank supports the dance position while the cushioned insole adds welcome softness for classes and longer social sessions.
The full suede outsole completes the traditional indoor dance construction, providing controlled glide for turns, travelling steps and changes of direction on suitable Ballroom and studio floors.

Dance World Notes
BL178 is one of the prettier traditional social styles.
The fine woven straps give it considerably more delicacy than a broad-vamp sandal, while the flared heel keeps the overall shoe approachable rather than overly performance-led.
The adjustable under-arch strap is worth knowing about.
Because the main strap passes beneath the arch, its position can be adapted around the foot. It is a small construction detail that makes the decorative strapping much more practical.
Dance World Fit Advice
Overall Fit
BL178 has a relatively narrow fit through the forefoot and vamp. Dancers with narrow feet may find their regular UK size provides the neatest fit. We generally recommend starting approximately half a size above your normal street-shoe size for a comfortable social-dance fit.
Broader Forefeet
The multi-strap vamp does not provide the same accommodating feel as some of So Danca's wider or elasticated designs. Half a size up is the better starting point, although very broad feet may be better suited to another model.
BL178 Fit Note
The toes should sit comfortably within the front of the sole without excessive overhang, while the rear and adjustable strap should keep the shoe securely connected to the foot during movement.
Dance World sizing recommendations are intended as a starting point. Dance shoe fit is individual and can vary with foot width, toe shape, instep height and personal preference.
